Kofi Bentil can’t absolve Bawumia from the economic mess – Dr. Apaak

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has stated that the Vice President of IMANI, Kofi Bentil cannot absolve the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from the economic mess created.
This comes on the back of Vice President IMANI, Kofi Bentil, stating that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remains the best since assuming the office of Vice President.
“Years ago I assessed the field and, before anyone did, I boldly declared that of them all, you were the best.
“I promised to watch closely and said I would change my mind if you changed, or other facts came up. I am glad to say, across the years you have proven that my trust was not misplaced,” Mr. Bentil stated.
In a sharp response, the Builsa South lawmaker stated that the IMANI Vice President better join the camp of Dr. Bawumia rather than trying to exclude him from the prevailing mess.
“I’m embarrassed by Kofi Bentils’ pitiful attempt to distance DMB from the abysmal record of a gov’t he has been front and centre.
“A middle class ‘neutral’ seeking to exonerate DMB from the terrible mess the government has plunged our nation into? Be BOLD Kofi, just join the DMB team wai,” Dr. Apaak stated in a tweet.
However, special aide to former President John Mahama, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has also described as untruth Kofi Bentil’s assertion so far.
According to him, per the records there is no way the Vice President can match former President John Mahama’s records.
“Kofi Bentil, in a write-up this morning, attempts an elaborate but implausible extrication of his friend, Bawumia, from the catastrophic performance of the government of which he has been the poster boy in the last seven years.
“Among other astonishing claims, Kofi says that Bawumia is a better alternative to Mahama in the 2024 elections given the opportunities both have had in government.
“This is a gratuitous untruth and is not backed by one shred of fact. No one can sustain such a claim. There will be plenty of time to discuss this subject in the run up to the 2024 electioneering campaign.
“It bears saying in the interim however, that apart from being much, much, better than Bawumia on the basis of verifiable facts regarding performance, Mahama showed himself a superior leader when taking personal responsibility publicly for governmental shortfalls in his day and putting in the requisite shift to address them comprehensively.”
