PRINPAG congratulates Assorow, Haruna Attah on diplomatic roles

The Private Newspapers and Online Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has congratulated two of its members on their appointment as ambassadors.

Sir Benedict Batabe Assorow and Alhaji Haruna Attah were named to diplomatic posts by the Government of Ghana.

Mr Assorow, a veteran journalist and former Editor of the Catholic Standard, has been appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to the Vatican. Mr Attah, who previously worked with the Daily Mail, will serve as Ambassador to Namibia.

In a statement issued in Accra, PRINPAG described the two as “distinguished and longstanding members” whose contributions to journalism and public discourse had been exemplary.

“Both appointees are distinguished and longstanding members of PRINPAG whose contributions to journalism, publishing, and public discourse have been exemplary. Their elevation to such high diplomatic offices is a testament not only to their individual dedication and competence but also to the recognition of the pivotal role media practitioners play in national development.

The Association said both appointees had made significant contributions to the media industry and expressed confidence that they would bring the same professionalism and integrity to their new assignments.

“PRINPAG expresses its profound appreciation to the Government of Ghana for entrusting two of our own with these prestigious responsibilities. We are confident that Sir Benedict Batabe Assorow and Alhaji Haruna Attah will discharge their duties with utmost professionalism, integrity, and distinction, thereby bringing further honor to our country.

“On behalf of the Association, we wish them every success in their new assignments and look forward to witnessing the positive impact of their service in advancing Ghana’s diplomatic interests and strengthening international relations,” PRINPAG stated.

The statement was jointly signed by Jeorge Wilson Kingson, Executive Secretary, and David Tamakloe, President of PRINPAG.
