Bawumia talks business, security with ten EU Ambassadors

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia has engaged European Union Ambassadors in Accra, focusing on security, economic cooperation, and investment opportunities in Ghana.
The New Patriotic Party flagbearer disclosed the meeting in a post on X on Tuesday, following what he described as a high-level breakfast discussion with diplomats from ten EU member states and representatives of the European Union.
According to Dr. Bawumia, the engagement brought together Heads of Mission from Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta, alongside an EU delegation, reflecting strong diplomatic interest in Ghana’s trajectory.
“Our constructive and forward-looking discussions focused on shared priorities, including regional security, deepening economic cooperation, and expanding investment opportunities in Ghana,” he stated.
The former Vice President emphasised that the talks were anchored on strengthening collaboration between Ghana and the European bloc, particularly at a time when global economic and security concerns continue to evolve.
He used the opportunity to outline his broader vision for the country, highlighting governance, economic stability, and inclusive development as central pillars.
“I also reiterated my steadfast commitment to strengthening Ghana’s democratic institutions, advancing sustainable economic growth, and promoting inclusive social development,” he noted.
The engagement signals ongoing efforts by Dr. Bawumia to position Ghana as a key partner for international investment and cooperation, especially within the European market.
It also underscores the importance of diplomatic dialogue in addressing shared challenges such as regional instability, trade barriers, and economic resilience.
With Ghana maintaining longstanding ties with the European Union, discussions of this nature are expected to play a role in shaping future partnerships, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development, trade expansion, and security collaboration.
Dr. Bawumia’s interaction with the EU diplomats comes amid heightened political activity with key stakeholders outlining policy directions and strengthening international relationships.
