The Bank of Ghana has issued a statement on the 4th of April 2026, assuring content creators on the social media platform X in the country regarding delays in receiving their funds.
In a press release, the Bank of Ghana acknowledged the concerns raised by content creators and entreats them to remain calm as steps are taken to improve the situation.
“The Bank takes these concerns seriously and is implementing measures to
significantly reduce the turnaround time for receiving funds.”
The Bank reaffirms its commitment to Ghana’s digital economy, emphasizing its role in supporting innovation and enabling citizens to benefit from various social media platforms.
“The Bank remains committed to creating an enabling financial environment that
supports innovation, digital earnings, and Ghanaians participating in the global
digital economy.”
According to the Bank of Ghana, all claims associating this meeting with politics is highly disregarded. “We state categorically that this group has no political affiliation.”
“They engaged the Bank solely as concerned content creators seeking a practical resolution to
a legitimate issue.” They noted.
This is a result of content creators who voiced out their frustration over delayed or blocked payments from platforms such as X, YouTube, TikTok, and other global services. Many reported that their earnings, often in foreign currency, were either held up by intermediary banks or rejected outright by local financial institutions.
