Breaking: Many feared dead after tipper truck collides with Sprinter bus at Ofankor Barrier
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has deployed personnel to the Ofankor Barrier in Accra following a serious road crash involving a tipper truck and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus.
The accident occurred on Thursday, August 13, with several people feared dead and others reportedly sustaining serious injuries.
Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Alex King Nartey, a member of the GNFS National Communications Team, confirmed that firefighters were at the scene carrying out rescue operations.
The circumstances leading to the collision are yet to be established, while the exact number of casualties has not been officially confirmed.
The crash has also affected traffic flow around the area, with motorists likely to experience delays as emergency personnel work at the scene.
Authorities are expected to provide further information on the casualties and circumstances surrounding the accident as rescue efforts continue.
