For discipline in NPP and victory for Bawumia, vote John Boadu – Joseph Cudjoe writes

A winning party is not built on fear. It is built on discipline. And discipline is not about waiting for people to go wrong so they can be punished. Punishment and sanctions should only be the final step when all else has failed.

True discipline begins with education, training, guidance, organization, as well as fair and firm leadership. It means helping and training members to understand the Party’s constitution, values, and code of conduct. It means creating a culture where members willingly comply because they believe in the rules and trust those enforcing the rules will do so fairly and firmly.

Yes, when members deliberately or persistently violate the Party’s rules, disciplinary action must be swift, fair and impartial. A political party without enforcement of its rules loses credibility. But a party that depends only on punishment will soon lose its members.

Discipline is achieved through compliance. Compliance is achieved through fairness. Fairness is achieved through consistency in enforcement of rules. Consistency is achieved through strong institutions – in this case, a strong NPP.

That is why the NPP does not need a National Chairman whose greatest qualification is sounding like a fighter, a boxer or a macho man. Loud voices do not build disciplined organisations. Threats do not build winsome political parties.

The NPP needs a Chairman who is principled, fair, firm and decisive. NPP needs a leader who inspires teamwork rather than fear, who applies the rules without favour, and who strengthens the Party’s institutions instead of being a source of intimidation.

President Barack Obama once said:
“Africa doesn’t need strong men; it needs strong institutions.” The same is true of the NPP.

The road to victory in 2028 will be built on strong structures, effective organisation, disciplined members and unwavering compliance with the Party’s rules.

John Boadu understands this because he has done it before. He has demonstrated the ability to organise, coordinate and strengthen the Party’s machinery. He has always said that discipline is not an event but an organizational culture. And a disciplined party is a united party. A united party is a winning party.

If we want to present a united and disciplined NPP behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia…

If we want a Party that is well organised from polling station to national headquarters to face the NDC without fear of intimidation.

If we want victory in 2028 for our Flag Bearer, Dr Bawumia

Then we must first choose the leader who can build discipline without division, enforce the rules without fear or favour, and strengthen our institutions rather than personalities.

To sum up what I’ve said, I note that a disciplined army isn’t one with a fearsome commander but one with disciplined soldiers.
