Dr. Apaak commends War Memorial Hospital staff after successful care of quadruplets

Deputy Minister for Education and Builsa South Member of Parliament, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has commended the medical staff of the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo for their role in caring for a mother and her quadruplets, describing their efforts as exceptional.
Dr. Apaak made the remarks in a Facebook post after visiting the maternity ward of the hospital to meet the babies, their parents, Bernice and Joseph, and the maternal grandmother.
The MP said he was pleased to find the family in good health and high spirits during the visit. He noted that the parents were particularly grateful to the medical team for the care they received from the moment of delivery through to discharge.
According to Dr. Apaak, Bernice and Joseph specifically requested that he convey their appreciation to Dr. Thomas, whom they credited with providing dedicated care and guidance throughout their stay at the hospital.
“Both Bernice and Joseph asked me to thank Dr. Thomas on their behalf in their presence,” he wrote. “In fact, Dr. Thomas deserves commendation for doing a yeoman’s job.”
The Deputy Minister said the recognition was well deserved, given the commitment demonstrated by the doctor and the entire medical team in ensuring that both the mother and the babies remained healthy.
He also paid tribute to the nurses at the facility, acknowledging their contribution to the successful care of the family.
“I thanked him and the nurses for giving Bernice and the babies the best care,” Dr. Apaak stated.
He stressed the importance of dedicated healthcare workers in improving maternal and child health outcomes, especially in cases involving multiple births that often require specialized attention and monitoring.
He further announced that the quadruplets and their mother had successfully completed their treatment and observation period and had since left the hospital.
Dr. Apaak disclosed that the family had arrived safely in Fumbisi, where relatives and community members have welcomed them home.
He concluded by thanking God for the successful delivery, recovery and safe return of the babies, saying the development had brought smiles to many faces.
