SYPALA: Africa’s transformation is waiting for a generation of builders – Senyo Hosi

‎Finance and economic policy analyst, entrepreneur and public policy advocate Senyo K. Hosi has called on students and young professionals to become a generation of builders capable of driving Africa’s economic transformation through enterprise, sound policy, institutional reform and civic responsibility.

‎Speaking at the Students and Young Professionals African Liberty Academy (SYPALA) 2026 on August 27, where he led a discussion on “Beyond Politics: How Businesses and Public Policy Can Drive Africa’s Transformation.”
‎
‎SYPALA, which stands for the Students and Young Professionals African Liberty Academy, is an annual educational program run by the IMANI Center for Policy and Education.
‎
‎“Africa’s transformation is not waiting for one hero. It is waiting for a generation of builders. Will you be Africa’s builders today?” Hosi asked.

He added that the continent’s future could not be achieved through speeches alone but would depend on the policies designed, businesses built, institutions strengthened, corruption resisted and skills acquired by its people.

‎“The Africa we seek will not be delivered by speeches alone. It will be rebuilt by the policies we design, the enterprises we grow, the institutions we strengthen, the corruption we refuse, the skills we acquire, and the courage we show when reform becomes difficult,” he stated.

‎He urged young people to move beyond partisan politics while remaining active.
