2026/2027 SHS placement results rescheduled to September 4

The Ministry of Education has postponed the release of the 2026/2027 school placement results, giving schools, parents and students additional time to submit data.

The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results were initially scheduled to be released on Monday, August 31, 2026. However, the Ministry has now moved the date to Friday, September 4, 2026.

The Ministry said the decision follows requests from some parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools for more time to complete the submission and uploading of students’ information onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS.

In a statement issued on Sunday, August 30, the Ministry said the extension was necessary to ensure that qualified students are not disadvantaged because their information has not yet been uploaded.

“In response to these requests, the Ministry has decided to reschedule the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results from Monday, 31st August 2026 to Friday, 4th September 2026,” the statement said.

The Ministry disclosed that approximately 20,000 qualified students are yet to have their school choices uploaded onto the CSSPS platform.

It explained that the outstanding submissions are being delayed by Heads of Schools, parents or guardians, making the additional period necessary for the affected students to participate fully in the placement exercise.

“This extension will enable all qualified students to complete the required processes and ensure their information is recorded in the system for placement in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions,” the Ministry stated.

The Ministry is consequently urging all parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools with outstanding information to take advantage of the extension and complete the necessary processes before the new deadline.

It cautioned that the additional time is intended specifically to allow pending data to be captured and should therefore be used effectively to prevent students from being left out of the placement process.

The placement exercise is expected to determine the Senior High School and TVET institutions into which qualified students will be placed following the completion of the relevant processes.

The Ministry said ensuring that all eligible students have their information properly captured is important to maintaining fairness and transparency in the placement system.

“The Ministry remains committed to a fair, transparent, efficient, and orderly placement process that gives every qualified student a meaningful opportunity to secure placement in a Senior High School or TVET institution,” it added.
