CLOGSAG leadership dispute: Acting President urges members to ignore purported appointments

The Acting President of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), Benjamin Otoo, has directed members and regional and district executives to disregard purported new appointments within the Association pending a determination by the High Court.
Mr Otoo said the appointments currently being circulated are disputed and their validity is before the Court for determination.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the Acting President urged all Regional Executives, District Executives and members to refrain from implementing any notices, directives or administrative actions arising from the disputed appointments.
“The purported new appointments being circulated within the Association are disputed and are currently before the High Court for determination,” Mr Otoo stated.
He said the High Court has scheduled a date to determine the matter and urged all stakeholders to allow the judicial process to take its course.
“The purported appointments are disputed and their validity is before the High Court,” he reiterated.
Mr Otoo consequently called on regional and district executives not to recognise or implement the disputed appointments until the Court delivers its decision.
He also appealed to members to remain calm and law-abiding, while protecting the unity and institutional integrity of CLOGSAG.
“All members are urged to remain calm, law-abiding and committed to protecting the unity and institutional integrity of CLOGSAG,” he said.
The Acting President said his office remains committed to protecting the Association’s institutional integrity, property and collective interests amid the leadership dispute.
“The Office of the Acting President remains committed to protecting the institutional integrity, property and collective interests of CLOGSAG,” Mr Otoo stated.
He further called on all stakeholders to exercise restraint and respect the judicial process as they await the Court’s determination.
“Let the Court determine the matter,” Mr Otoo concluded.
