Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has publicly accepted her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Akofena, as the leader of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
In a statement calling for reconciliation and unity, Ms Safo reaffirmed her commitment to preserving the legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, while urging the family to put past differences and grievances behind them.
She said the time had come for the family to move beyond whatever misunderstandings or disagreements may have emerged following their father’s death and focus on unity and the preservation of his legacy.
”I have chosen the path of conciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she said.
Safo said she held immense love and respect for her brother and, in honouring their late father’s wishes, had decided to publicly recognise him as the leader of the family and the church.
”He has my full support, and I state unequivocally, that, I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,” she said.
She described Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo’s legacy as a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to his children, stressing the need for the family to rise above its differences and protect what he built.
According to her, the ideals and vision of their late father must continue to inspire future generations, while members of the family and the Kristo Asafo Church work together to advance his legacy.
Safo also called on members of the Kristo Asafo Church, the wider Kantanka family and all persons associated with her father’s work to acknowledge and respect the unity of the family.
”Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she said.
She extended her goodwill and best wishes to Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings as they embark on what she described as a renewed journey of peace and forgiveness.
Safo expressed hope that the new chapter would bring healing, unity and renewed strength to the family as they work together to honour and advance the vision and legacy of their late father.
