Hawa Koomson, Justice Is Not Either-Or. Demand Action on Every Case – Abigail Mensah writes

Hawa Koomson, Ghanaians deserve justice not a choice about which alleged crimes the police should investigate as you stated on your visit to the alleged appendage of Ghana Jollof.
As Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the NDC, I support calls for thorough investigations into killings and or allegations of sexual abuse against schoolgirls. But these responsibilities do not require the police to disregard alleged threats against the president and his wife. One unresolved crime is not a reason to ignore another.
On the Obuasi Senior High Technical School case, reported developments must be acknowledged: the headmaster was interdicted, and the Interior Minister reportedly announced his arrest and the transfer of the investigation to Police Headquarters. We must now demand a thorough investigation, protection for complainants and accountability for any mishandling of earlier reports.
I will not shield anyone accused of abusing students, regardless of political affiliation. Complainants deserve protection and support, while the accused remains entitled to due process.
The same standard applies to the Ghana Jollof matter. Criticising the president is not the same as threatening his life. Investigators must authenticate the recording, identify the speaker and establish the context. An allegation is not a conviction, but neither should political considerations prevent its investigation.
If your concern is delay, demand urgency. If it is selective enforcement, demand equal treatment. Neither concern justifies abandoning another case.
As women in leadership, we must protect women and girls without turning their experiences into partisan ammunition. Ordinary citizens deserve no less protection than the president, and political critics deserve neither persecution nor immunity.
Investigate the killings. Pursue the abuse allegations. Examine the alleged threats. Let evidence not political pressure determine the outcome.
Your hypocrisy is sickening
