Techiman SHTS teachers and student violent incident referred to GES for urgent investigation – Dr. Apaak

Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, says the violent incident at Techiman Senior High Technical School (SHTS) involving some teachers and a student has been referred to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for investigation.
The video footage shows the two men assaulting the final-year student with acts such as stepping on the student’s head.
In a quick response to the incident, the Deputy Minister for Education says GES will investigate the incident for action.
“At the instance of the Honourable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, I have referred the attached disturbing video — said to be a violent incident at Techiman SHTS involving some teachers and a student — to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service for urgent investigation,” Dr. Apaak stated in the Facebook post.
The Deputy Minister also added that the Director-General has further been directed to apply the necessary sanctions to the offending parties.
“Misconduct will not be tolerated in our schools from any stakeholder, be it teaching and non-teaching staff, students or parents.
“We have a mandate to ensure that our schools remain safe for all — students, teaching and non-teaching staff — at all times,” he added.
