Kennedy Agyapong pledges to shift from fiery talk to problem-solving

Former MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong, says he has moved from confrontational politics to solution-driven leadership as he seeks to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a post shared on social media, the Assin Central MP, known for his uncompromising style, acknowledged his reputation for blunt speech and fiery commentary over the years.
He explained that while exposing problems had its place, the time had come to channel his energy into building solutions for the country.
“You know me. You’ve heard me speak my mind for years. I’ve always spoken from the heart, sometimes with fire, because I love this country,” Agyapong wrote.
“But I’ve also listened. And I’ve come to understand that the skills needed to expose a problem are different from the skills needed to solve it.”
He added that his new focus was to work toward development and opportunity for Ghana’s youth.
“The Bible teaches us that there is a season for everything. My season of fiery talk has given way to a season of focused action. The old Ken fought for you. The new Ken will build with you to create a better Ghana for our youth and the next generation,” he declared.
The statement comes at a time when several old videos of Agyapong have resurfaced online, showing him lashing out at politicians, including figures within his own party.
These clips, widely shared on social media, have reignited debate about his combative political style and its place in his bid for leadership.
Now, with his eyes on leading the NPP into the 2028 elections, Mr. Agyapong is presenting himself as a more measured and pragmatic leader, promising to transition from being an outspoken critic to a nation-builder.
