Dead body found in classroom causes disruption at Galilea M/A JHS

Teaching and learning came to an abrupt halt at Galilea M/A 1 Junior High School after a lifeless body was discovered in one of the classrooms.
The shocking incident occurred early Monday morning, throwing both students and staff into a state of panic.
According to one of the teachers, the body, believed to be that of an unidentified man, was found inside a classroom before lessons could begin. The discovery was made shortly after students arrived for the day’s academic activities.
School authorities immediately reported the matter to the police and relevant local officials, who are expected to begin investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. However, as of the time of reporting, no official response or statement had been issued regarding the incident.
The unsettling discovery prompted the school to suspend all academic activities for the day, as both staff and students struggled to come to terms with the situation. Teachers described the scene as “disturbing” and called for enhanced security around the school premises to prevent similar occurrences.
Parents who heard the news reportedly rushed to the school to check on their wards, adding to the tense atmosphere in the area. The identity of the deceased and the cause of death remain unknown, but police are expected to provide updates once investigations are completed.
The incident has left the Galilea community deeply unsettled, with residents calling for swift action from authorities to ensure the safety of students and restore calm to the school environment.
Meanwhile, a 7-year-old boy also drowned in floods at Abrepo Bronikrom in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region, leaving the community in shock and grief. The tragic incident happened on Saturday, September 27, 2025, during a heavy downpour.
According to eyewitnesses, the floods swept the boy away after he attempted to retrieve a slipper from a nearby drain while playing with two friends. The strong currents overpowered him and carried him off before anyone could intervene.
Community members quickly mobilised to rescue the child, but their efforts were unsuccessful. By Sunday morning, residents had mounted a desperate search, combing through flood pathways and drains, yet the boy remained missing.
One resident, Kojo Mensah, described the mood in the town as fearful and sorrowful. “We have been to the site several times. Even a fetish priest was called, and rituals were performed, but we still haven’t found him. Everyone is disturbed because this has never happened here before,” he said.
As of Sunday evening, there had been no official deployment of police or emergency rescue teams. Residents say they have been left alone to continue the search.
