NDC summons Chiana-Paga MP over ‘Thank You Tour’ comments

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has summoned Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga.
The lawmaker is to appear before the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) over comments he made questioning leadership decisions.
In a letter dated September 29, 2025, the NDC said the MP’s remarks in a widely circulated GH One TV interview “did not sit well with the leadership of the Party.”
The party noted that Hon. Alamzy’s comments on leadership decisions, especially regarding the “thank you tour” in his constituency, triggered the invitation to the Functional Executive Committee.
The directive, referenced NDC/HQS/69/02/73, schedules the Chiana-Paga MP to appear before the Functional Executive Committee on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the party’s national headquarters in Adabraka, Accra. The summons is intended to give the lawmaker the opportunity to clarify his position on the leadership decisions he publicly questioned.
“In view of the concerns raised by your comments in the said video, you are hereby invited to appear before the Committee to provide clarification and further explanation,” the letter signed by Hon. Emmanuel Zumakpeh, Director of Administration, stated.
The party also copied the Regional Chairman of the Upper East Region, the Chiana-Paga Constituency Chairman, and the Majority Leader in Parliament. The Regional Chairman has been invited to accompany the MP to the meeting.
