Justin Kodua drags Abronye to NPP Disciplinary Committee

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has lodged a petition with the party’s National Disciplinary Committee against the Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
In the petition, Mr. Kodua accused Abronye of misconduct, gross indiscipline, and acts of defamation directed at Assin Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, as well as against the Office of the General Secretary. He said such conduct had injured the image of the party and undermined its structures.
The petition outlined three areas of concern: defamatory remarks, false allegations, and the misrepresentation of official committee findings.
According to the General Secretary, Abronye made derogatory comments against Hon. Ken Agyapong, including a claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.” He described the statement as defamatory and damaging to the reputation of a senior member of the party.
The petition further alleged that Abronye accused the General Secretary of concealing a report that purportedly implicated Hon. Agyapong and recommended his expulsion. Mr. Kodua dismissed this claim as false, malicious, and harmful to his integrity and office.
In addition, Abronye was accused of misrepresenting the findings of a disciplinary committee report, an act Mr. Kodua said amounted to a serious breach of confidentiality and a violation of party discipline.
The NPP General Secretary has therefore requested the committee to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into Abronye’s actions and apply the necessary disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Mr. Kodua emphasised that accountability and discipline within the party are non-negotiable, adding that the matter must be handled with seriousness to protect the unity, credibility, and democratic values of the NPP.
The petition was signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
