TEIN must become home of superior ideas, shape national governance – Anatu Bogobiri Esq

The Deputy Chief Executive for Finance and Investments at the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri, has called on the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at the University of Ghana to position itself as a leading platform for policy innovation and national governance.

Speaking as the Special Guest Speaker at the TEIN-University of Ghana Homecoming under the theme, “Honouring Our Past, Shaping Our Future,” Madam Bogobiri urged the student political organisation to move beyond mobilisation and become a think tank for generating practical policy solutions.

She proposed that TEIN-UG institutionalise policy discussions each academic semester to nurture critical thinking and leadership.

“Mr. Chairman, I therefore humbly suggest that TEIN UG implements a one-day policy-driven debate, forum or analytical discussions each semester to prove that TEIN UG and, for that matter TEIN, is the home of superior ideas.”

According to her, the organisation has a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to governance by engaging national issues and offering practical solutions.

“Comrades, TEIN must be active in shaping governance! Because TEIN is a strategic VOICE! Be intellectually VISIBLY! Use your voice!”

Madam Bogobiri also highlighted what she described as improvements in Ghana’s healthcare sector under the Mahama administration, citing reforms at the NHIA following the uncapping of the National Health Insurance Fund.

“Comrades, the story of NHIA is one of the better Ghana Agenda. Since President John Dramani Mahama uncapped the NHI FUND, the NHIA now pays claims timely and effectively – just this Wednesday, I paid about GH 220 million to Health Providers and claims are paid every month ending.”

She further pointed to the government’s flagship health initiatives as evidence of ongoing reforms.

Madam Bogobiri encouraged TEIN members to use their academic and political training to influence public policy, insisting that the future of governance depends on young leaders who are prepared to provide solutions to national challenges rather than merely criticising them.
