TEIN must produce leaders of integrity, not social media popularity – NHIA Deputy CEO

The Deputy Chief Executive for Finance and Investments at the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri, has challenged members and alumni of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at the University of Ghana to focus on building lasting legacies rather than chasing popularity on social media.

Speaking as the Special Guest Speaker at the TEIN-University of Ghana Homecoming under the theme, “Honouring Our Past, Shaping Our Future,” Madam Bogobiri urged members to prioritise integrity, institution-building and national service as they prepare for leadership roles.

According to her, TEIN should be remembered not for isolated events but for producing leaders who make meaningful contributions to Ghana’s development.

“Firstly, Legacy over Likes, Legacy over social media hype. Comrades, our generation must build institutions… strong institutions not just influence and popularity! TEIN must be known 20 years from now not for one successful homecoming, but for the alumni it produces who enter public service, the business arena, and civil society with INTEGRITY and establish a positive legacy.”

She also called for greater unity within the youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stressing that collaboration across differing views is essential to advancing the party’s vision.

“Secondly, we must build Unity over Factions. The future will not be shaped by people who can ONLY work with those who agree with them. So, learn now to collaborate across differences.”

Madam Bogobiri further urged members to move beyond criticism by proposing practical solutions to national challenges.

“Thirdly and lastly, let’s take Action over Talk. Let’s do away with the talk shops, it is not enough to critique. Of course, constructive criticism is allowed? But Comrades, let’s Bring or proffer solutions after the constructive criticism.”

She encouraged TEIN-UG to institutionalise policy-focused engagements by organising debates and analytical discussions every semester.

Madam Bogobiri, a former TEIN-UG member, said the organisation remains an important platform for nurturing future national leaders through intellectual engagement, service and mentorship.
