2026 Budget: 10 Agenda 111 hospitals to be completed in 2026

The government has announced that ten hospitals under the Agenda 111 project will be completed in 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the nation’s healthcare infrastructure.
Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson disclosed this while presenting the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Thursday evening.
“Mr. Speaker, Government will complete ten hospitals under the Agenda 111 project in 2026 to improve access to quality healthcare across the country,” Dr. Forson stated.
He explained that the completion of these hospitals forms part of a broader strategy to expand healthcare delivery, bridge regional health gaps, and ensure that no district is left without a well-equipped hospital.
“Mr. Speaker, the completion of these facilities will mark a significant step toward universal health coverage and ensure that every Ghanaian, regardless of location, has access to quality medical care,” he said.
Dr. Forson emphasized that the Mahama administration’s health policy under the “Resetting for Growth, Jobs, and Economic Transformation” agenda focuses on building modern medical facilities, investing in personnel training, and improving efficiency in service delivery.
He also highlighted the establishment of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, known as MahamaCares, which will provide sustainable financing for healthcare infrastructure, equipment, and essential services.
“Healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege,” the Finance Minister noted. “Through these investments, we are restoring confidence in our health system and bringing essential services closer to our people.”
The Finance Minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to completing ongoing health projects, including six new regional hospitals and other priority facilities, as part of its plan to modernize the health sector and enhance national wellbeing.
