GES opens nationwide recruitment for graduate teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a nationwide recruitment drive targeting graduate teachers with valid licences and completed national service.

In a statement signed by Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service said it is seeking “passionate and dedicated graduates” to fill teaching positions across the country.

The announcement invites applicants who hold a Bachelor of Education degree or related qualifications in education to apply, provided they meet all professional and regulatory requirements.

According to the statement, candidates must possess a valid teaching licence issued by the National Teaching Council and demonstrate readiness to accept postings, particularly to deprived districts.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service seeks passionate and dedicated graduates to apply for teaching position in the Service,” the statement said, underscoring the scope of the nationwide exercise.

The Service outlined that successful applicants will be expected to facilitate learning using modern technology while addressing the diverse needs of learners in classrooms.

It noted that teachers must also help students improve their research abilities through the use of digital tools and adopt varied assessment methods to accurately measure competencies.

Highlighting professionalism, the statement added that teachers will be required to adhere strictly to the National Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct.

“Use the National Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct to guide practice at all times to ensure professionalism and ethical behaviour,” it stated.

The recruitment also places emphasis on continuous development, urging prospective teachers to remain current in their field.

“Participate in relevant continuous professional development sessions to stay current,” the statement added.

Interested applicants are required to complete an online application form via the official recruitment portal and upload necessary documents, including academic certificates, national service proof, teaching licence, Ghana Card, and a passport photograph.

The application window runs from April 10 to April 17, 2026, as the Service moves to strengthen teaching capacity across public schools nationwide.
