NPP Election: Don’t pay money to any election committee or party officer – Kodua

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has cautioned aspirants seeking to contest in the party’s ongoing Constituency Executive Elections against making payments to any member of the Elections Committee or party officer for nomination forms.
According to Mr. Kodua Frimpong, all payments for nomination forms must be made exclusively through the party’s official payment platform, and not through any individual or party official.
In a notice to party members, he stated: “Kindly take note that the payment for the constituency elections nomination forms is through the Party’s payment platform. No one should pay money to either the Elections Committee or any party officer.”
He further directed aspirants and party members to make all payments through the party’s online portal:
The directive comes as the NPP officially opens nominations for its Constituency Executive Elections, a crucial stage in the party’s ongoing restructuring and reorganization process following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
The elections form part of the party’s broader rebuilding agenda initiated after recommendations by the Prof. Mike Oquaye Election Review Committee, which was tasked with reviewing the party’s performance in the 2024 polls. The committee’s findings led to a series of reforms aimed at strengthening grassroots structures, improving internal democracy, and positioning the party for a strong comeback in the 2028 general elections.
The latest electoral exercise follows the successful completion of polling station membership registration, polling station executive elections, and electoral area executive elections held across the country in recent months.
Under the party’s timetable, nominations for all constituency executive positions opened on June 22 and will close on June 24, 2026. The elections will subsequently be conducted through Constituency Delegates Conferences in accordance with Article 7 of the NPP Constitution.
Constituency executives are regarded as the operational backbone of the party’s grassroots machinery, responsible for mobilizing members, coordinating political activities, and driving campaign efforts at the local level.
With nominations underway, party leaders are urging aspirants to strictly adhere to the laid-down procedures, emphasizing transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process. The latest caution by Mr. Kodua Frimpong is expected to prevent unauthorized collections and ensure that all payments are properly accounted for through the party’s approved platform.
