NPP Elections: You’ve a role in building a more united party – Bawumia to newly elected executives

The Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged newly elected constituency executives to unite the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a statement issued after the NPP’s nationwide constituency executive elections, Dr Bawumia congratulated the newly elected executives, expressing confidence in their ability to provide the leadership needed to reposition the party for victory in the next presidential and parliamentary polls.
“Their election reflects the confidence reposed in them by the grassroots of the Party,” he said, adding that he was “confident they will provide the leadership, unity, and commitment needed to strengthen the Party and work tirelessly towards securing victory in the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.”
He further appealed to unsuccessful aspirants to rally behind the newly elected executives, stressing that unity remained the party’s strongest asset.
“Every member has an important role to play in building a stronger, more united, and victorious New Patriotic Party,” he stated.
Dr Bawumia also underscored the importance of cohesion, saying, “Unity remains our greatest strength and the surest path to victory in 2028.”
The NPP conducted its nationwide constituency executive elections from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 12, 2026, with the Electoral Commission (EC) supervising the internal voting exercise across 385 designated voting centres nationwide.
The polls formed part of the party’s internal reorganisation efforts as it prepares for future electoral contests. Party members filed and submitted nomination forms between June 22 and June 24, 2026, ahead of the elections.
Following the successful completion of the constituency polls, the party has commenced the next phase of its organisational exercise, involving constituency album data entry and validation. The process is scheduled to run from July 13 to July 26, 2026.
The statement encouraged all party faithful to remain focused on rebuilding the NPP through collective effort, discipline and cooperation, insisting that every member, regardless of the election outcome, has a responsibility to contribute to the party’s unity and electoral success.
