Mahama dissolves boards of BOST, GNPC, NSA and six others with immediate effect

President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the governing boards of nine state-owned institutions with immediate effect.

The directive, announced by the Presidency on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, affects the boards of Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited, Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), and Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO).

Also affected are the boards of Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG), Ghana Post Company Limited, the Road Maintenance Trust Fund, TDC Ghana Limited, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and the National Sports Authority (NSA).

In a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, the Presidency said, “President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the Boards of the following institutions with immediate effect.”

The affected institutions are:

* Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST)
* Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO)
* Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG)
* Ghana Post Company Limited
* Road Maintenance Trust Fund
* TDC Ghana Limited
* Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)
* National Sports Authority

The Presidency has directed the relevant sector ministers to take the necessary steps to implement the decision in accordance with the applicable laws and governing instruments.

The statement added, “The affected Boards will be reconstituted in due course.”

The dissolution comes as the government moves to reset the leadership structures of key state institutions, with new boards expected to be announced at a later date.
