Justin Kodua secures second term as NPP General Secretary

Justin Frimpong Kodua has been re-elected General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after winning a decisive victory at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
Mr. Kodua retained his position after polling 4,486 votes in the election held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 3. His closest challenger, former Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, secured 1,340 votes, while Eugene Boakye Antwi and Dr. Charles Dwamena obtained 162 and 129 votes respectively.
Addressing delegates after the announcement of the results, Mr. Kodua expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to continue working to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“This victory belongs to every member of the NPP. I am grateful for the trust delegates have shown in me, and I remain committed to serving the party with dedication and discipline,” he said.
The outcome is seen as a strong endorsement of Mr. Kodua’s leadership over the past four years. Party delegates from across the country participated in the conference, which also elected other national executives to steer the affairs of the NPP following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Kodua first won the General Secretary position in 2022 and has since served as the party’s chief administrator, overseeing its organisational and electoral activities.
During the campaign period, he expressed confidence in securing another mandate, citing support received from delegates nationwide.
“Together, we will build a stronger and more united party capable of winning the confidence of Ghanaians once again,” he stated.
