Volta Region to benefit from major gov’t road projects – Julius Debrah

The Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Debrah, has announced that the government is advancing a number of major road projects in the Volta Region under its Big Push programme.
Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the 2026 Asogli Te Zã Grand Durbar in Ho on Saturday, October 3, Dr. Debrah said the projects are intended to improve connectivity and support production, tourism and trade in the region.
He said work is progressing on the reconstruction of the Anyirawasi-Ho Tritrinu road, the Ho Guinness Depot-Ho Airport Second Gate section, the Ho-Kpetoe road and the Have-Hohoe road.
The government is also planning improvements to internal access roads serving the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho Technical University and Mawuli Senior High School, including an overpass at Alaye.
“These are routes to farms, schools, hospitals, markets and opportunity,” Dr. Debrah said.
He stressed that the government’s development vision for the Volta Region must be reflected in tangible infrastructure projects.
“Government sees Volta as an important centre for production, tourism and trade, and that vision must be visible in work on the ground,” he stated.
Dr. Debrah said the ultimate objective of public service should be to improve the lives of citizens.
He further assured the people of the Volta Region that he would support credible development initiatives that improve livelihoods.
“I assure Togbe, the Regional Minister and the people of Volta that my doors remain open. Credible projects that improve lives here will find in me a willing partner and advocate,” he added.
Dr. Julius Debrah represented President John Dramani Mahama at the 2026 Asogli Te Zã Grand Durbar at Jubilee Park in Ho.
The celebration was held under the theme, “United in Purpose, Investing in People and Infrastructure for Sustainable National Development.”
