Yammin declares bid for second term as NDC national organizer

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Organizer, Joseph Yammin, has declared his intention to seek re-election to retain his position in the party’s upcoming national executive elections scheduled for December 19, 2026.
Mr. Yammin made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, where he disclosed that he had picked and submitted his nomination forms and paid the required fees to contest for another term.
“We are here to announce to you that we have picked nomination forms to contest the upcoming national elections. I am maintaining my position as the National Organizer of the party to go another term,” he said.
He explained that he had completed the nomination process and was awaiting confirmation of the other aspirants who would challenge him in the contest.
“I am waiting to know my opponent and will be ready to go into battle on the 19th of December,” Yammin said.
The NDC National Organizer disclosed that the party was expected to know the identities of the other aspirants by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a development he said would help candidates determine their campaign strategies ahead of the elections.
“So we’ll get to know by 5 p.m. who our opponents will be, and that will inform us as to the strategy we take into the elections,” he said.
Mr. Yammin’s declaration sets the stage for the contest for the National Organizer position as the party prepares to elect its national executives.
Mr. Yammin further disclosed that the NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, had also picked his nomination forms, paid the required fees and submitted his nomination to contest in the upcoming national elections.
The party is expected to confirm the full list of aspirants following the nomination process, paving the way for campaigns ahead of the December 19 elections.
