Ministry of Gender sacks regional, zonal coordinators of school feeding program

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has terminated the contracts of all Regional and Zonal Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), effective immediately.
This decision was communicated in a statement issued on March 4, 2025, directing the affected coordinators to report to the GSFP Secretariat for their termination letters and handover instructions.
The GSFP, a government-initiated programme, aims to provide free meals to school children, enhancing enrollment, attendance, and nutrition. Despite its benefits, the programme has faced challenges like funding delays, corruption allegations, and outstanding payments to caterers.
Minister Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey expressed gratitude to the coordinators for their service and wished them well in their future endeavors. However, the Ministry’s statement did not provide specific reasons for the termination, sparking curiosity among stakeholders.
The sudden termination has raised concerns about the programme’s future and its beneficiaries. Former coordinators and stakeholders are now pondering the implications of this development.
