Mahama nominates seven Justices of the Appeal Court to Supreme Court

The Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, announced that President John Dramani Mahama has nominated seven Justices of the Court of Appeal to be considered for appointment to the Supreme Court of Ghana, in a letter dated April 29, 2025.
The nominations were made pursuant to Article 144(2) of the Constitution of Ghana 1992.
The nominated Justices are Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei, Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo, Justice Philip Bright Mensah, Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo, and Justice Hafisata Amaleboba.
According to Dr. Mahama’s letter, the Curricula Vitae of the nominated Justices are attached, and the President has requested that the Judicial Council expedite action on their considerations.
The letter was addressed to the Ag. Chief Justice, Judicial Council, Accra, and copied to the Vice President.
This decision shows President Mahama’s commitment to ensuring that the Supreme Court is composed of highly qualified and experienced Justices who can provide effective justice delivery and uphold the rule of law in Ghana.
