Advans Ghana empowers over 150 women through breast cancer screening and financial literacy outreach

Advans Ghana Savings & Loans Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to women’s health and economic empowerment by organizing a breast cancer awareness and screening exercise alongside a financial literacy training session at Kasoa New Market on Thursday, 22 October 2026. The initiative reached over 150 women, providing an opportunity to promote health awareness while equipping participants with practical financial knowledge.
The event, organized as part of Advans Ghana’s commitment to community well-being and financial inclusion, brought together women clients and members of the Kasoa community for an engagement focused on two essential aspects of their lives: maintaining good health and building financial security.
Promoting breast health and early detection
In partnership with Claron Health International, Advans Ghana facilitated a breast cancer awareness and screening exercise aimed at encouraging women to prioritize their health and seek timely medical attention.

The awareness session highlighted the importance of breast health, recognizing potential warning signs, and consulting qualified healthcare professionals early on any concerns. The initiative encouraged participants to be proactive about their health and to seek appropriate medical advice when necessary. By bringing the exercise directly to Kasoa New Market, Advans Ghana helped make breast health awareness and screening more accessible to women within their community.
Equipping women with financial knowledge
Beyond health awareness, the outreach featured a financial literacy session on “The Habit Saving and Borrowing Wisely.” The training provided practical guidance on the importance of regular savings, responsible borrowing, budgeting, and making informed financial decisions.

Participants were encouraged to develop healthy financial habits, manage their income effectively, and borrow responsibly to support their business activities. The session also highlighted how sound financial management can help women strengthen their businesses, prepare for emergencies, and build greater financial resilience.
The training reflects Advans Ghana’s belief that access to financial services should be complemented by the knowledge and skills needed to use them effectively.
A commitment to women’s empowerment
Speaking at the event, Yens Gyamfi Appiah, Deputy Chief Business Development Officer, and Barbara Odei, Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, represented Advans Ghana in reinforcing the institution’s commitment to supporting women and the communities it serves.
The initiative reflects Advans Ghana’s broader approach to empowerment, recognizing that women’s well-being extends beyond access to finance. Supporting their health, strengthening their financial knowledge, and encouraging informed decision-making are equally important in helping women and their businesses thrive.
Through initiatives such as this outreach, Advans Ghana continues to demonstrate its commitment to financial inclusion, community development, and women’s economic empowerment through its AdvansHER Gender Programme. By combining breast cancer awareness and screening with financial literacy education, the institution seeks to inspire women to take charge of their health, manage their finances confidently, and build a stronger future for themselves and their families.
Advans Ghana remains committed to its promise of ‘Growing Together’ by creating meaningful opportunities for clients and communities to thrive.
