Areas to be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance on Sunday, July 13
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of the country will experience temporary power outages on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
This development is due to planned maintenance works intended to enhance service delivery and improve the reliability of the national power distribution network.
In a series of public notices released on Friday, July 11, ECG indicated that the scheduled maintenance will affect areas within the Western, Tema, and Greater Accra regions. According to the company, the exercise is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades necessary for delivering efficient and stable electricity to homes and businesses.
In the Western Region, two maintenance operations are expected. The first will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., affecting locations such as Vienna City, Mankessim White House, Accra Station, and surrounding communities. A second, longer operation from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will impact areas including Daboase, Sekyere Krobo, Sekyere Nsuta, Aboaboso, Bosomase, and nearby towns.
For the Tema Region, ECG noted that maintenance work will be carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Residents in communities such as Mobole, Ataa Mensah, Boishe, Afienya, Philip Kope, and the Greenhouse Enclave are among those who will be affected by the temporary outage.
In Greater Accra, the planned works will also begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m. Power supply will be interrupted in both residential and industrial zones. Affected areas include Kings Cottage, KICC, Taxis Tires, Western World, Guinness Depot, Rebecca Fashion Manufacturing Ltd, Frosty Bite Company, Perfect Pharmaceutical, Shivan Ghana Ltd, Mawums, Akuaba Refinery, Eskay Pharmaceutical, Royal Crown Ltd, West Coast Beverages, Equator Foods, Intelligent Card Products, Healthy Life, DPS, Daysack Company Ltd, Afro Tropic, and nearby locations.
