Disregard fake recruitment letter in circulation – GES to Public

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned the public to disregard a fake recruitment letter currently in circulation on social media.

The letter, which has gained traction online, claims that financial clearance has been given for the recruitment of 50,000 teaching and non-teaching staff.

GES said the recruitment letter in circulation is fake and did not originate from the Service. It stressed that no such recruitment exercise has been announced.

In a statement issued on Sunday, September 21, 2025, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, management emphasized that official announcements on recruitment will only be made through GES and the Ministry of Education’s official platforms.

“Management wishes to state that the letter is fake and did not originate from GES. No such recruitment exercise has been announced yet,” the statement clarified.

The Service further advised the public to disregard the fake recruitment letter and remain vigilant against scammers. “The public is advised to disregard the fake letter and report any fraudulent activities linked to it,” Mr. Fenyi added.

However, within days of the Senior High School placement system going live, over 530,000 candidates have earned slots for themselves in second-cycle institutions nationwide.

This comes after the placements were published on the cssps.gov.gh on Wednesday.

The exact number of candidates who were successful stands at 534,672, the available data suggests.

Within that figure, some 52,492 candidates self-placed either directly on the portal or through the National Resolution Centre set up to address lingering concerns.

More candidates who could not get placements are expected to log on and self-place.

It follows an announcement by Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Apaak, explaining that some students were unable to secure their first-choice schools due to high demand.

He did reveal that a self-placement portal had been activated to give affected candidates a chance to select schools with available vacancies.
