Executive Secretary for ADAM-GH enters Pusiga NDC parliamentary race

Azubila Emmanuel Abdul-Salam has entered the parliamentary race in the Pusiga Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), signalling early activity ahead of the party’s primaries.
His intention to contest emerged through widely circulated campaign flyers across the constituency and on social media, although no formal public statement has yet been issued.
Mr Azubila currently serves as Executive Secretary of the Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana and is known for his involvement in national conversations on governance, electoral accountability and security.
His entry into the Pusiga race is expected to influence the dynamics of the upcoming NDC primaries, particularly given his visibility in civil society and policy advocacy spaces.
This is not his first attempt at parliamentary politics. He previously contested in the NDC parliamentary primaries in the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency ahead of the 2024 general elections, where he campaigned on issue-based politics and cautioned against ethnic-driven voting.
Beyond party politics, Mr Azubila has also been vocal on national security matters, particularly the protracted conflict in Bawku. Through media engagements and public commentary, he has consistently drawn attention to concerns from the Kusaug perspective, focusing on justice, security and sustainable peace.
His advocacy on the Bawku situation has earned him support among sections of the youth in the Kusaug area, with some openly backing his parliamentary ambition and encouraging his bid.
Observers say his combination of civil society experience and political ambition could resonate with younger voters in the constituency, especially those seeking representation grounded in policy and advocacy.
While the NDC is yet to officially open nominations for its parliamentary primaries, early developments such as Mr Azubila’s entry point to growing political interest and competition in the Pusiga Constituency.
His candidacy is expected to add a new layer to the contest as the party prepares for its internal electoral process.
