Gov’t to support ZAMSTECH’s outstanding projects, including pick-up vehicle – Dr. Apaak

The government has assured the Zamse Senior High/Technical School (ZAMSTECH) community that it is working to advance outstanding projects requested by the school, including the provision of a pick-up vehicle.
Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, gave the assurance on behalf of the Education Minister during ZAMSTECH’s 50th anniversary celebration in Bolgatanga on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Dr. Apaak said the Ministry had taken note of the school’s requests and was working with the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) on cost estimates already submitted for the projects.
“Let me speak plainly to the specific commitments this school has raised with the Ministry, including a pick-up vehicle and the other outstanding projects for which estimates were prepared and forwarded by AESL,” he said.
He assured the school’s Board, Management and wider community that the requests had received the attention of the Education Minister.
“I want to assure the Board, Management and the entire ZAMSTECH community that these matters have the Minister’s attention, and that the Ministry is working with the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited on the cost estimates already submitted, with a view to progressing them as resources allow,” Dr. Apaak stated.
He added that the government intended to demonstrate its commitment through concrete action.
“Government’s commitment to this institution is not a matter of words alone, and we intend to be judged by what follows this visit,” he said.
Dr. Apaak further said ZAMSTECH stood to benefit from the government’s broader efforts to expand technical and vocational education across the country.
ZAMSTECH, established in 1976, is celebrating 50 years of education and technical training in the Upper East Region.
The Golden Jubilee was held under the theme “Empowering Minds and Shaping the Future: The Role of Stakeholders,” and brought together government representatives, school authorities, staff, students, alumni, traditional leaders and other stakeholders.
