LAND LOOTING: Still rampant despite ORAL – Prince Derek Adjei writes

Lots of State Lands were allocated to Gold Key Properties, several have been revoked without government giving the details of the revoked Lands; so nobody knows where these revoked Lands are nor the size of each revoked Land allocations…

There’s no point announcing revocation of allocations of State Lands, publish same without any details of locations, size etc.

Why is government not publishing these revocations in all National newspapers or encouraging all media houses to publish same by making the information available?

Operation Recover All Loot must be made to work.

The military must stop stealing prime lands at Kpletso and other areas and desist from Land swap with Private developers and focus on completing the Accra Kumasi Expressway…

The Base Ordinance Depot and other military facilities relocated to Kpletso have been used to hand over prime lands to private developers; the Police Workshop and DVLA office st 37 were relocated to Haatso so a private developer can have the large tracts of prime land near the Airport City…

The Ghana Airways DC10 plane has been relocated to make the prime Land available to a private developer…

The 31st December Women’s Movement mitigated Star Hotel land is currently cordoned off and a private developer is on site working just like several other State Lands and Bungalows have been demolished in Cantonments, Labone and Airport enclaves so private developers can takeover.

WHO AUTHORIZED THESE??

The Lands Minister must speak directly to these.

Government has money for flagship programmes and projects like the 24HOUR ECONOMY and its 24HOUR MARKETS but cannot find land for it or Chiefs ate unwilling to release land just like they did with Agenda 111 Hospital and E-Blocks under previous administrations for fear of these lands being handed over to private developers or allocated to third-parties including government officials, the friends, family members and business associates.

Land is a key factor in production or any meaningful economic venture, it also defines a place and it’s people; so why will a government takeover anybody”s land especially Stool Lands and give to a private developer or individual to become rich at the expense of the original pre-acquisition Land owners who are thus rendered LANDLESS.

The La Stool Lands were won through conquest in wars and with the Blood of the ancestors thus cannot be gifted to cronies…

August, 7th 2026 marks the 200years anniversary of the Katamanso War of 1826 which ended in the Dodowa or Pinkwai forest, this bloody war stopped potential landlessness as the refrain was to fight to the sea, the defeat of the aggressor paved way for the bond of 6th March, 1844 and eventually the abolition of Slavery and Ghana’s independence on 6th March, 1957.

The President’s promise to Ghanaians that he will establish a Commission of Enquiry into the Looted State Lands, Bungalows and Expropriation of GaDangme Lands particularly the La Stool Lands which is the most prime thus most affected, must be kept along with the underpinning principles of the Operation Recover All Loot.

If government truly needs land it must be demonstrated not just said.

The Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey Ridge Bungalow and the Rawlings Ridge Residence must be returned to the State together with the several properties including Lands taken over by the 31st December Women’s Movement, Justices Sophia Akuffo, Georgina Woode and others…
