Mahama assures GNAT of renewed commitment to teachers’ welfare

President John Dramani Mahama has reassured the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) of his commitment to improving the welfare and professional development of teachers across the country.

President Mahama disclosed this when he received the leadership of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) at the Flag Staff House in Accra on Wednesday.

According to him, they exchanged ideas on issues critical to the welfare and professional development of our teachers.

President Mahama stated that their insights and commitment to the teaching profession are invaluable.

“I took the opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for their relentless efforts to help shape the future of our nation and for the good investments made by the Association.

“More importantly, I assured the GNAT leadership of my unwavering commitment and that of my government to prioritize improving the working and living conditions of all teachers,” President Mahama stated in a Facebook post.

He continued: “Our teachers are the bedrock of Ghana’s education system and essential partners in nation-building. Ensuring they are well-compensated, work in conducive environments, and have access to professional growth opportunities is not just a promise but a fundamental necessity for national progress.”
