Mahama will speak to the nation after official declaration – Bawah Mogtari

The spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama says her boss is expected to address the nation officially after the Electoral Commission (EC) declares the results as the President-elect.

This comes on the back of the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conceding defeat to Mr. Mahama in the just-ended 2024 elections ahead of Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC)’ official declaration of results.

Addressing the press at his residence, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged his defeat, citing provisional results that indicate a decisive win for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement, the former President’s spokesperson thanked the Ghanaian people for their emphatic endorsement.

“HE John Dramani Mahama will address the country after his official declaration as winner of the 2024 presidential election by the Electoral Commission.

“Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, NPP presidential candidate, earlier today placed a call, conceding the election to Mr Mahama”, madam Mogtari stated.

She continued: “On behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Mahama extends his appreciation to the good people of Ghana for the emphatic endorsement of his call for #Change to reset the economy and build the Ghana we want.”
