Mawutor Foundation for Widow and Blind targets real widow – CEO
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Mawutor Foundation for Widows and the Blind, David Eyram Agboado has said his Foundation targets real widows.
According to him, what motivated him to start the Foundation, Mr. Agboado said he lost his dad when he was three months old and the mother has to single handedly bring him and his sister up.
“So what we suffered I don’t want to see people go through that same difficulties. My mum was selling kenkey and fish when we lost our dad. My mum never got married again but by the grace of God she was able to bring us up,” he disclosed.
Mr. Agboado said because of that his Foundation targets widows who are really widows by giving them capital to invest in what they are doing to take care of their children.

“I mean widows who never got married after the demise of their husbands and only have their children as their companions. They work really hard in taking care of their children. That is what I meant by widows who are really widows,” he added.
According to him, the Foundation has donated to a couple of widows so far through resources from the Royal Crown Recruitment Agency.
He said Royal Crown Recruitment has been in the system for five years and management has resolved to give 10% of each recruitment to finance Mawutor Foundation for Widows and Blind.

The CEO indicated that recruitment agency does thorough checks on persons they recruit and called on the public to patronize their services so that the agency can help the widows and the blind.
“We’ve helped some of the widows with capital to invest in the small business they are engaged in.
“The source of funding is my business which is a recruitment agency, we recruit nannies, cleaners and homecare nurses so whatever we get from that we give ten percent from that to the widows and the blind,” he explained.
Mr. Agboado said since charity begins from home the Foundation has commenced its donation in the community it was founded.
“So far we have donated to almost ten widows in our community but the dream for this Foundation is to target widows and blind not only in Ghana but across Africa and the world at large,” he added.
The CEO further explained that some of the items they donate include cash, rice, toiletries, and water as well as washed clothes.
