NDC Exposes NPP’s Election-Rigging Plot Mastermind: Brigadier-General Michael Opoku – Sammy Gyamfi

Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), made shocking allegations against Brigadier-General Michael Opoku during a press conference at the NDC’s headquarters.
According to him, Brigadier-General Opoku has been mandated by President Akufo-Addo to rig the upcoming December 7 polls in favor of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). The alleged plot involves ballot stuffing, swapping of ballot boxes and pink sheets, and other clandestine activities, particularly in the Ashanti region. Gyamfi also claimed that Opoku has relocated his family to the United Kingdom and is willing to do whatever it takes to carry out this plot in exchange for the position of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) if the NPP wins the 2024 elections.
In essence, Gyamfi is accusing Opoku of being instrumental in the NPP’s alleged plan to manipulate the election outcome. The NDC also alleges that Opoku is training NPP thugs at Asutsuare Military camp and other locations, planning to disguise them in military attire to unleash violence on NDC agents and supporters on voting day.
Gyamfi emphasized that the NDC will not allow Opoku and his collaborators to succeed in their alleged plot, urging the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of Defence Staff to investigate and bring Opoku to book.
“The NDC and by extension, the people of Ghana will hold the IGP, the Chief of Defence Staff and our security heads responsible for the loss of a single life in the 2024 general elections. Elections are about counting heads and not cutting heads. No person must lose his or her life on the altar of elections,” Gyamfi stated.
