NDC flags fly half-mast for ET Mensah, Sidney Laryea

The flag of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to fly at half-mast following the death of Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah and Dr. Sidney Laryea.
According to the NDC, the decision was arrived at the regular meeting held on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, the Functional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress.
In a statement signed by General Secretary of the party, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey indicated that the party discussed the sad demise of Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah and Dr. Sidney Laryea.
Mr. Kwetey disclosed that Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah was the first National Youth Organizer of the NDC.
“With unwavering dedication and patriotism, he rose through the ranks to become the longest serving Minister for Sports under the 4th Republic.
“At the time of his death, Hon. E.T Mensah was a Member of the Council of State of the Republic of Ghana. Dr. Sidney Laryea was the first National Treasurer of the NDC and served the party with dedication and unflinching commitment,” Mr. Kwetey stated.
He further added that “The NDC is proud of the invaluable contributions of these great personalities to the development of Ghana and the great NDC.”
“At the appropriate time, the party will join their respective families to honour their memories and give them a befitting burial. May the gentle souls of our departed comrades rest in perfect peace, the General Secretary of the NDC concluded.

PRESS STATEMENT ON THE PASSING AWAY OF HON. E.T MENSAH AND DR. SIDNEY LARYEA
At its regular meeting held on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, the Functional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress, discussed the sad demise of Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah and Dr. Sidney Laryea.
Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah was the first National Youth Organizer of the NDC.
With unwavering dedication and patriotism, he rose through the ranks to become the longest serving Minister for Sports under the 4th Republic.
At the time of his death, Hon. E.T Mensah was a Member of the Council of State of the Republic of Ghana. Dr. Sidney Laryea was the first National Treasurer of the NDC and served the party with dedication and unflinching commitment.
The NDC is proud of the invaluable contributions of these great personalities to the development of Ghana and the great NDC.
The Functional Executive Committee has resolved and hereby directs, that all flags of the NDC at the National Headquarters, Regional Offices and across the 275 Constituency Offices of the party fly at half-mast on Thursday, 5th October, 2023 in honor of the memory of our deceased comrades.
At the appropriate time, the party will join their respective families to honour their memories and give them a befitting burial. May the gentle souls of our departed comrades rest in perfect peace.
