NDC will ensure sufficient textbooks for all public basic schools – Dr. Apaak

Dr. Clement Apaak, Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has assured that his government will prioritize the provision of sufficient textbooks for all students in public schools.
In an interview on the Class Morning Show, Dr. Apaak stated, “When we come, we are going to ensure that sufficient textbooks are provided for all people in our public basic school system.”
He emphasized the importance of timely release of capitation grants, saying, “The capitation grants are the reason why we can say that we have free basic education in Ghana. But because the grant is not being released timely, the headteachers have had to struggle to manage what is a grant system.”
Dr. Apaak also highlighted the challenges faced by headteachers and students due to inadequate resources, saying, “It’s not acceptable. Patients were being made at the hands of a 40-page book. They are getting high blood pressure. They are getting diabetes. They are getting cancer up and up.”
He ended by saying, “We are going to ensure the stable development of the foundations that function here today. Government schools, foundations, government. The equivalent of this temple.”
