NPP outlines arrangements for October 3 national officers election

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has outlined voter identification requirements for delegates ahead of its national officers election on October 3, 2026.

The party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) said voting will be held across 31 polling stations, with the Electoral Commission (EC) responsible for verifying delegates before they cast their ballots.

The election will cover nine positions: National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director.

The party’s programme will begin with consideration of constitutional amendments at 9:00 a.m., followed by the election of national officers at 12:00 p.m.

The NOEC said only delegates whose names appear on the delegates’ register and who present valid identification will be permitted to vote.

“Delegates are advised to bring one of these identification documents and allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins,” the notice said.

The accepted identification documents are a Voter ID card, Ghana Card or NPP party card.

The committee, chaired by Frederick Opare-Ansah, has directed constituency, regional and national officers to communicate the requirements to delegates in their respective jurisdictions.

The October 3 exercise is part of the NPP’s national conference and will determine the party’s officers for the positions listed in the election programme.

The conference will also consider proposed constitutional amendments before the voting process begins.
