NPP Primaries: Bawumia maintains lead in latest poll as Ken gains ground

Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia leads the NPP presidential race in a new poll, while Kennedy Agyapong’s support rises, narrowing the contest.
A fresh survey by Global Info Analytics, conducted under a likely voters model, shows Dr Bawumia maintaining his front-runner status as the New Patriotic Party prepares for its presidential primaries.
The poll places him at 45 percent, positioning him just short of the 50 percent threshold and ahead of the rest of the field.
Kennedy Agyapong emerges as the closest challenger, recording 31 percent support.
The figure reflects a noticeable upswing for the outspoken party figure and points to increasing traction as the internal campaign season gathers pace.
The narrowing gap underscores a contest that is becoming more competitive, even as the current leader retains a clear advantage.
The remaining aspirants trail well behind the two frontrunners. Dr Bryan Acheampong secures three percent in the survey, while Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong register no measurable backing among respondents captured by the poll.
Beyond declared preferences, a sizable portion of party supporters is yet to make their positions known. The survey indicates that 11 percent of respondents preferred not to disclose their choice, while nine percent said they remain undecided. Together, these groups represent a significant bloc that could shape the dynamics of the race as campaigning intensifies.
The findings suggest that while Dr Bawumia continues to dominate the field, the contest is far from settled. Analysts note that shifts among undecided and undisclosed voters often become decisive as aspirants step up outreach efforts and sharpen their messages closer to voting day.
The New Patriotic Party is scheduled to choose its presidential candidate on January 31, 2026. With several months remaining, all five contenders are expected to deepen engagement with delegates nationwide.
