NSA engages UHAS final year students on national service registration procedures

The National Service Authority (NSA) has engaged final-year students of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) on national service registration procedures ahead of their deployment.
The engagement, held on Thursday, June 12, 2026, formed part of a pre-campus orientation programme aimed at preparing students for the national service registration and deployment process while equipping them with the information needed to complete the exercise successfully.
The programme was organised under the directive of the Director-General of the National Service Authority, who tasked her two Deputy Director-Generals, together with the Deployment, Regional and Management Information Systems (MIS) teams, to interact directly with the students.
The exercise sought to provide clarity on registration requirements, explain the procedures involved and address challenges commonly encountered by prospective service personnel.
Present at the orientation were Deputy Director-General for Operations, Lt. Col. Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu; Deputy Director-General for Finance and Administration, Hon. Donkor Fuseini; Head of Deployment, Mr. Yaw Tweneboah Koduah; Head of MIS, Mr. John Apraku; the Volta Regional Director; the Dean of Students; and officials from UHAS’s Academic Affairs Directorate.
Their participation highlighted the Authority’s commitment to ensuring students transition smoothly from university education into national service.
During the interactive session, students raised questions on registration timelines, documentation requirements, deployment procedures and the expectations placed on service personnel during their service year.
Officials also used the opportunity to educate students on the dos and don’ts of national service and encouraged them to adhere to established guidelines throughout the registration and deployment process.
According to the Authority, the orientation was intended to equip students with accurate information and minimise errors that could delay their registration and placement.
“The goal was to provide clarity on the registration process and address common challenges faced by service personnel,” the Authority stated.
It added that students actively participated in discussions and sought practical guidance on issues likely to arise during registration.
“The session proved highly engaging, with UHAS students asking numerous questions and seeking clarity on registration procedures, the dos and don’ts of service, and other practical concerns,” the Authority said.
The NSA is expected to continue similar engagements with tertiary institutions across the country as part of efforts to streamline the national service registration process and adequately prepare final-year students for deployment.
