Shatta Wale thanks EOCO for professionalism

Dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., widely known as Shatta Wale, has expressed appreciation to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
He thanked them for what he described as fair and respectful treatment during his recent arrest and detention.
In a TikTok live broadcast on Thursday, August 21, shortly after regaining his freedom, the musician reassured fans of his safety, saying he was back home and in good spirits. “The king is safe, One Don is safe, and I’m home now,” he said. “I want to thank you all for standing by me at a time when I needed you most.”
The artist extended gratitude to his loyal fan base, close associates, and the EOCO officers who, according to him, conducted themselves with professionalism throughout the process. “You really took me through the rightful procedures, and I just want to say God bless you all,” he added, singling out some officials for their understanding.
Shatta Wale was arrested on August 20, 2025, over a Lamborghini Urus allegedly linked to a \$4 million U.S. fraud case involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian serving a seven-year prison sentence in the United States. EOCO investigators reported that the musician was unable to produce valid ownership documents for the luxury vehicle, with the only available paperwork being a customs declaration in Amuah’s name.
He was held overnight before being granted bail on August 21. The initial bail requirement of GH¢10 million with two sureties was later reduced to GH¢5 million, which he successfully met.
His release came after hundreds of fans thronged EOCO’s headquarters in Accra, demanding his freedom and chanting solidarity messages.
For now, Shatta Wale has promised to remain positive and focus on his music while legal proceedings around the case continue.
