Teaching is a calling that deserves the highest recognition, support – Dr. Apaak

Deputy Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has praised teachers across the country for their unwavering dedication and selflessness.

He described teaching as a noble calling that deserves the highest recognition and support.

In a Facebook post, after the 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony held in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, Dr. Apaak commended teachers for their tireless efforts in shaping minds and nurturing responsible citizens who contribute to national development.

“I wish to commend all teachers across the country for their hard work and commitment. Your role is not only to impart knowledge but also to nurture responsible citizens who will drive Ghana’s growth and development,” Dr. Apaak said.

He stressed that the impact of teachers goes beyond classroom instruction, noting that the nation’s progress depends on their dedication and professionalism. “Teaching is more than a job; it is a calling that deserves the highest recognition and support. Let us continue to uplift and honour our teachers, for the strength of our education system and the progress of our nation rest on their shoulders,” he emphasized.

Dr. Apaak, a long-standing advocate for teacher welfare and educational reforms, urged government institutions, corporate bodies, and communities to collectively invest in teacher motivation and professional development. According to him, the well-being of teachers directly influences the quality of education and the future of Ghana’s workforce.

The 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony, held under the theme “Elevating the Status of Teachers for Quality Education,” celebrated outstanding educators who have demonstrated innovation, leadership, and excellence in their roles.

Dr. Apaak congratulated all the awardees, describing their achievements as a reflection of dedication and excellence in the teaching profession. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that teachers are equipped and supported to deliver quality education to every Ghanaian child.

He concluded by calling on society to show greater appreciation for teachers, emphasizing that no nation can achieve sustainable development without investing in those who educate and inspire its people.
