We aim to convert ATTC, Dabokpa Technical Institute into national institutes of technology – Haruna
Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has concluded his working visit to Japan by exploring two world-class institutions: the National Institute of Technology (NIT) and the National Institute of Special Needs Education (NISE).
Inspired by Japan’s innovative KOSEN model, the Minister stated that Ghana will establish its own National Institutes of Technology.
He further revealed that plans are underway to convert the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC) and Dabokpa Technical Institute into national institutes of technology.
This move, he explained, would help in delivering high-quality, hands-on technical education tailored to 21st-century industry needs.
The Minister, in a Facebook post, further revealed that he also explored how Japan is using digital tools to enhance learning for students with special needs.
“The insights from NISE reaffirm our resolve to make inclusive education a national priority,” he wrote
