We’ll hold on to our newly found majority status – NDC MPs

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus in Parliament has served notice it will move heaven and earth to protect its newly acquired majority status when Members of Parliament (MPs) return to the chamber Thursday.
Speaker of Parliament under article 112 (3) of the constitution triggered by the NPP caucus has summoned the house to sit tomorrow.
The move follows the indefinite suspension of proceedings about two weeks ago as a result of visible tension between the Legislature and the Judiciary in the vacant seat brouhaha.
Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has indicated his readiness to preside of Parliament on Thursday.
But addressing the media, Chief Whip of the NDC caucus Governs Kwame Agbodza disclosed though his side is ready to assist in doing government business, they are not ready to cede their sitting positions given the earlier announcement by the speaker on the four vacant seats.
The Adaklu MP urged the NPP caucus to assume the minority status peacefully if indeed it wants government business transacted on the floor.
