$3.5m Invess Fertilizer Plant Commissioned By Trade Minister

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has commissioned a $3.5 million fertilizer manufacturing plant established by Invess Agriculture Ltd at Shai Hills in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.
The new facility, developed in partnership with Nitron Group and managed by AAA Infrastructure Ghana Ltd, is expected to produce 385,000 metric tonnes of granular fertilizer annually. It will also deliver 20 formulations that have been approved by the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Trade Minister praised Invess Agriculture Ltd. for what she described as a bold and forward-looking investment that aligns with the government’s agenda of industrialization and agricultural transformation.
“This is a decisive step toward sustainable agribusiness growth, job creation, and strengthening Ghana’s position in regional trade,” she said, adding that the plant’s production capacity will reduce Ghana’s heavy reliance on imported fertilizer while empowering farmers to increase productivity and secure livelihoods.
After the official commissioning, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare, together with her delegation, joined executives of Invess on a guided tour of the facility to witness its advanced blending, processing, and quality control systems in operation.
The Chief Executive Officer of AAA Infrastructure Ghana Ltd, Patrick Ohene-Djan, emphasized that the project reflects the government’s broader vision for industrialization and the 24-hour economy policy. He stressed that the ripple effects of the plant will extend well beyond its gates.
“Each shift undertaken, each unit produced, and every pound of fertilizer blended at our facility directly impacts families throughout Ghana, reinforcing the agricultural sector that underpins our nation’s future,” Mr. Ohene-Djan noted.

As part of its long-term strategy, Invess Agriculture has announced plans to establish a 5-million-litre liquid fertilizer plant to serve not only Ghanaian farmers but also the wider ECOWAS subregion. This expansion, the company said, will position Ghana as a leading hub for fertilizer production in West Africa, boosting both domestic food security and regional trade.
The new facility is expected to play a key role in improving soil fertility, supporting sustainable farming practices, and strengthening food security for current and future generations.
