Fan emergency halts Liverpool clash at Selhurst Park

Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace was briefly halted on Saturday after a medical emergency in the stands forced referee Chris Kavanagh to pause play.

The stoppage came in the 13th minute, just four minutes after Palace had taken the lead through Ismaila Sarr.

As Liverpool prepared for a free-kick outside the Palace penalty area, home fans on the halfway line alerted Kavanagh to the situation in the stands.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah quickly signaled for urgent medical attention.

Physios from the bench rushed across the pitch, joined by stewards and stadium medical staff, to assist the affected supporter.

The incident took around five minutes to handle. Supporters applauded as the medical teams walked back across the field, with play resuming shortly afterward.

Sky Sports later reported that the supporter appeared fine, though no additional details were provided.

Security and stewards remained around the scene as a precaution while the game continued. Both sets of medical staff were praised for their professionalism in responding to the emergency.

The match eventually restarted and carried on as normal, though the unusual interruption left a lasting moment in what was otherwise a thrilling Premier League encounter.
